All information provided or collected during participation is kept confidential. It is stored securely and only accessed by approved study staff. In publications, information is reported at the group level and is not identifying.
Yes. Your participation in a research study is completely voluntary and will not affect any treatments you may be eligible to receive at the Road Home Program, Rush University Medical Center, or other institutions.
Yes. You can withdraw from a study at any time with no penalty. If you withdraw, the data already collected may not be removed from the study records. Withdrawing will not affect your care at the Road Home Program or Rush University Medical Center in any way.
Participation in a study generally will not cost you anything, but this may vary by study. Study-related costs you may be responsible for include phone carrier charges and transportation costs. Any study-related costs to you will be made clear before the start of your participation.

The location of the study visits differs for each study. Some studies may allow you to do all components electronically, while others may require you to go to the study site. Participation in some studies may be of direct benefit to you. For example, in some studies you may receive a treatment or service that could improve your mental health. Other studies may have no direct benefit to you but will help us to better support and meet the needs of other veterans.
