Setting up your video visit

Video visits enable you to talk directly with your care team. You can use any computer, tablet or smartphone. But first, you will need to sign up for a MyChart account.

Step 1
Signing up to MyChart

Here are the three easy steps to sign up to MyChart:

1) If this is your first video visit, you will receive an email with a link and instructions on how to sign up for your MyChart account.

2) To activate your MyChart account, enter your username, create a password, fill in your date of birth, agree to terms and conditions, then hit submit.

3) Congratulations. You have successfully signed up for MyChart. If you are using a smartphone or tablet for your video visit, download the mobile app using the links to the right.

Step 2
Preparing for your video visit
with a mobile device (preferred)

You will need a high-speed internet connection and a working camera or microphone (your smartphone or tablet has both). Download the mobile MyChart app, available on the Apple App Store as well as the Google Play store. Search for “MyChart”.

Before your video visit

You will need to test your device and confirm you have the correct hardware/software for the visit.

If you are using the mobile MyChart app, you will see a green Test Video button. Select this to test your video connection. If it is more than 20 minutes prior to the scheduled visit start time, you can check your hardware to validate your settings but will not be able to join the visit. Once you have tested your connection click the Begin Visit icon.

Step 2
Preparing for your video visit
with a computer

If you prefer using a computer, you will need to test your computer and confirm you have the correct hardware/software for the visit. Test your computer on the browser you are planning to use for the visit, we recommend Internet Explorer for PCs and Safari for Mac.

Before your video visit

1. Log into MyChart (mychart.rush.edu) to view the directions to your video visit.

2. View instructions for the video visit (you will see an alert on the main MyChart page after logging in

3. Complete e-Check in (verify allergies, medications and health issues)

4. Test your video visit connection. You will be asked permission to use camera and microphone for video conferencing. When you select yes, Vidyo will verify that it has access to your camera, microphone, speaker and network. If it is more than 20 minutes prior to your scheduled visit start time, you can check your hardware to validate your settings but will not be able to join your visit.

5. The camera, microphone, speakers and network icons will turn green when testing is successful and you can then click the Continue button. The icons will turn red for any features where testing wasn’t successful.
